Sustainability & eco-consciousness at the Grünauerhof
Sustainability is not just a word for us at the Grünauerhof, but is implemented wherever possible. We are concerned about living well in harmony with the environment and therefore rely on facilities that are ecologically state-of-the-art.
Regional
Regionality is a matter of our heart when it comes to purchasing. A special characteristic of our house is the own farm which is run by Georg Eisl junior with all his heart and is our main supplier for the meat and vegetables that you will enjoy in the restaurant. Moreover, we ensure that the products we buy in are of regional origin wherever feasible. The Salzburger Land and its neighbouring regions are rich in natural food from small-scale farms that are good for your health and your conscience.
Building materials
In the area of “building” we also work closely with producers and craftsmen from the region - out of conviction to strengthen the local economy. This is why we rely on local woods which give the ambience in the hotel, the restaurant and the rooms a particularly warm setting.
Electricity
We produce our own electricity in our house’s own photovoltaic system. Our own e-bikes are available for hire for your excursions.
Water
Our air conditioning is fed with well water. In addition, we take care to use water sparingly as a resource.
Waste separation
We follow a strict waste separation policy and try to avoid disposable products as much as possible.
Environmentally conscious together and sustainable mobility
We will be happy if you support us in our efforts to live ecologically, e.g. if you re-use towels or filling your plate mindfully at the buffet. We look forward to welcoming you with us and will promptly respond to your enquiry!
