Hosts by tradition in Wals near Salzburg
In 1898, when this place was still quite deserted, a small inn came into being in Wals right next to the associated farm. What began small grew more and more over the decades thanks to diligence, innovation and drive. This is how the Grünauerhof which we know today came into being.
Steeped in tradition
Once called the “Zur grünen Au” inn, the core values at the Grünauerhof have remained unchanged to this day: the warmth, the personal service, the dreamlike location with a view of the
Untersberg, the green surroundings on the border river Saalach and the skilful combination of old and new, together with a strong team of staff around the Eisl family, have been attracting not only Salzburg guests for decades.Today Georg Eisl junior and Silvana run the business and the next generation is already at the starting line.
A leading hotel in Wals
Tradition and the courage to try something new has always run in the Eisl family and thus it is no surprise that the Grünauer Hof was steadily expanded and modernised. In 1962, the first 13 guest rooms were built. In the 70s the house was expanded by a dining room for 100 people. Today the Grünauerhof consists of 64 modern hotel rooms, 3 seminar rooms, 650 seats in the restaurant and open air, and last but not least the Grünauerhof spa with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna oasis and garden area. A world of well-being at the gates of Salzburg. With gratitude for the past we can look into the future for which we have made preparations with the 2020/21 renovation.
