The Untersberg is a majestic massif at the edge of Salzburg and can’t be overlooked from the hotel Grünauerhof. Go up with the Untersbergbahn cable car (the valley station is in St. Leonhard) and walk the last metres to the summit. Be cautious: the top station is in alpine terrain. Mountaineers can conquer the massif by themselves, for example over the Dopplersteig in about 3 hours.

The open-air museum Salzburg in Großgmain documents rural building, living and economic activity in the province of Salzburg from the 16th to the 20th century on a total of 50 hectares.
